US SUPREME COURT DENIES MER CASE - GOMES V COUNTRYWIDE
In a widely anticipated and expected ruling, the US Supreme Court has denied to hear a California MERS ruling, Gomes v Countrywide. The original ruling found that MERS had an ability to foreclose on a property, as well as there being no requirement under CA law to "prove the note". As with other recent rulings, arguments against MERS and other foreclosure practices in CA are now essentially non-existent.
